The Full Story

Australian football is the sport for everyone. From Auskick to Junior Football and beyond, AFL is fun for all. So if you're new to the game, want to play socially or hope to become an elite AFL sports star, you can find a version of football that's right for you.

AusKick

Auskick is the best introduction to the great game of Aussie Rules Football! It’s all about fun, getting hands on the ball and constantly being involved in exciting activities.

No AFL experience? No worries! Auskick offers an inclusive environment for everyone aged 5 – 12 at any skill level to play.

Junior Football

Junior Football is the next step for kids who are ready to move on from NAB AFL Auskick or other introductory school and/or community programs. It’s the perfect environment for kids to have fun learning through play, make new friends and create memories that last a lifetime. Rules of matches are modified so children can continue to develop their skills in an enjoyable, safe atmosphere.

Players are gradually introduced to competitive football in stages as they gain skills and confidence throughout their years of Junior Football participation. Our philosophy ensures participating boys and girls have a fun, safe and positive football experience that is suitable to their needs.

Our Junior Footballers aren’t fully grown adults with the same skill level as AFL & AFLW players, so we modify gameplay to suit their needs. From modified tackling to smaller ground size and a smaller ball for junior hands!

Many girls prefer to play Australian Football in single gender environments, and where possible we recommend girls over age 10 do so. However, should your daughter prefer to play in mixed-gender team or competition they are permitted to do so until age 14.

Youth Football

Fun, fast and often skilful, Youth Football is a chance for teens to play football with their friends and establish new friendships, with a distinct focus on team building.

Tailor made for players of all abilities, Youth Football caters to teenage boys and girls aged from 13 to 18. An ideal progression from either NAB AFL Auskick or Junior Football, Youth Football provides children with the opportunity to play in a graded competition suitable to their ability within a local Community Club environment.

Youth Football is more competitive than Junior Football and adopts the full rules of Australian Rules Football to ensure that players are ready to transition to open age football when they reach the appropriate age.

As girls are unable to play in mixed teams from 14 years of age onwards, female only competitions exist in varying age groups in local Community Leagues. Focussed on fun, fitness & friendship, these competitions are managed by local Leagues and are a fantastic place for young female players to continue to learn the skills of the game in a competitive environment.

Senior Football

Senior football provides opportunities for men and women to participate in football competitions from a social to sub-elite level. Players can enjoy heightened fitness, improved communication skills and a great sense of teamwork.

Senior Football caters to players in an open age group, with no limit on how old a player can be to participate. Games are played under full Australian Rules match conditions, in varying grades depending on the strength of the individual team.

Whilst there is still a strong social element to the game, given the open age nature of the competition participants can expect increased competitiveness between Clubs with a stronger desire to be successful evident.

There is standalone open age Women’s competitions to cater for the increased amount of interest in Female Football which ae graded according to team strength.
